AWARD-WINNING STUDENT JOURNALIST
I’m an award-winning student journalist. I was named Student Journalist of the Year 2016 by Words By Women and I won Vogue Talent Contest 2015, with one of my winning pieces published in the October issue. I also won the ELLE Talent Contest 2014, with my piece published in the January 2015 issue, and Best Young Writer at the Independent on Sunday/Bradt Travel Writing Contest 2014. I was also shortlisted for Best Features Writer 2015 at the SPA (Student Publication Association) Awards.
I graduated in July 2016 from The University of Exeter with a First-Class degree in English Literature, and in June 2017 I finish my Masters in Investigative Journalism at City, University of London, for which I won a Print Futures scholarship.
I’ve interned at various media outlets, including The Observer New Review, BBC Current Affairs, Sky News, Vogue, BBC Radio 1 Academy, GQ, The Sunday Times and Aesthetica Magazine. I was also a press intern at the European Parliament.
I’m a Telegraph and Guardian Student Blogger; my piece on drinks spiking at university for The Guardian garnered 542 comments online and 880 ‘shares’, a follow-up piece by the Guardian , and was featured as a sample student blog post.
I’ve also freelanced for various publications, including Grazia, Vogue, GQ.co.uk, ELLE and Index on Censorship.
I was heavily involved with the student media during my undergraduate degree. I was made Features Editor 2015/16 for the student newspaper Exeposé, where I was Copy Editor 2014/15. I’m also Focus Feature Editor for the undegraduate academic journal, The Undergraduate, and I was on the News Team for XPression FM, the radio station.
